The ARTAS® system takes individual hair follicular units from the back and side of the head. These areas are not impacted by male pattern baldness. These follicles are then transplanted into thinning or balding areas of the anterior scalp, mid-scalp, or crown. By using 3D imaging and mapping, artificial intelligence, and robotic technology, the ARTAS® system perfects this process with the exact same placement every time. Precision matters! Following the restoration plan created by Dr. Dubey and by using the advanced IX system hair is harvested from the donor site. Then, the ARTAS® system uses advanced digital imaging, 3D mapping and artificial intelligence to analyze each follicular unit using micron accuracy. This ensures that each graft is of high quality, which will secure greater yield and ensure transplant success.
The harvested hairs are then analyzed and sorted before transplantation. The ARTAS® Recipient Site Mapping technology creates a natural site distribution pattern for the transplanted area. It then uses the 3D head mapping and software algorithms to create a plan for transplantation. This technology ensures that the healthy hairs are identified and not damaged.
The ARTAS® IX has an advanced 3 camera Stereoscopic Vision with 44 micron resolution and a 7-axis robotic arm that accurately identifies and creates optimal recipient sites and simultaneously implants each harvested graft. The FUE transplant using ARTAS IX is virtually a painless process with minimal downtime. Many patients are able to work and watch TV during the procedure. Unlike the FUT or Strip procedure, there is no long, painful incision that needs to heal. In most patients, the donor and grafted sites heal within 2-3 days. There may be minimal discomfort during the next few days but most patients return to work and their normal activities after that.
